Cyanotype, also known as the blueprint process, was one of the earliest photographic printing techniques – invented in 1842 by Sir John Herschel. Using a light-sensitive solution of iron salts, images are developed through UV exposure, creating the signature deep blue tones. Originally used for scientific documentation and later popularized by artists, cyanotype remains a unique and tactile method of image-making—each print shaped by light, time, and chance.
